BALTIMORE, EE.UU. – En una noche que evocó una escena ya vivida, los Yankees de Nueva York se convirtieron en el primer equipo en la historia de las Grandes Ligas –tanto en la Liga Americana como en la Nacional– en abrir múltiples juegos con tres jonrones consecutivos en una misma temporada. La hazaña se repitió exactamente un mes después del primer hito.
Trent Grisham, Aaron Judge y Ben Rice conectaron cuadrangulares espalda con espalda para iniciar el encuentro con un despliegue ofensivo contundente en Camden Yards, lo que marcó el tono de una victoria arrolladora por 15 carreras a 3 sobre los Orioles de Baltimore. Cody Bellinger también se sumó con un vuelacerca más adelante en la misma entrada, completando un primer inning de cuatro jonrones, algo que los Yankees solo habían logrado una vez antes en su historia.
“Todo empieza con Grish; fue él quien nos puso en marcha”, expresó Aaron Judge al final del juego. “Eso te anima, es como decir: ‘Tengo que pararme en el plato y hacer mi trabajo’. Le quita presión a todos cuando Grish hace eso. Estuvo bien”.
Con este resultado, los Yankees igualaron lo hecho el pasado 29 de marzo, cuando Paul Goldschmidt, Bellinger, Judge y Austin Wells también sacaron la bola del parque en el primer episodio ante los Cerveceros, enfrentando al lanzador cubano Néstor Cortés en el Yankee Stadium.
El dirigente del equipo neoyorquino, Aaron Boone, no ocultó su asombro ante la gesta: “Definitivamente no he visto nada igual. Es difícil de asimilar”.

BALTIMORE, U.S.A. – As Yogi Berra once said, it was “déjà vu all over again.”
The New York Yankees became the first team in Major League Baseball history – across both the American and National Leagues – to open multiple games in the same season with three consecutive home runs. The feat was repeated exactly one month after their first time accomplishing it.
Trent Grisham, Aaron Judge, and Ben Rice went deep back-to-back-to-back to open the game, setting the tone for a commanding 15-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Cody Bellinger later added another homer in the same inning, marking the second time in franchise history the Yankees have hit four home runs in a first inning.
“It all starts with Grish; he got us going,” said Judge after the game. “That gets you fired up. It’s like, ‘I’ve got to step up and do my job.’ It takes the pressure off when Grish does that. He was great.”
The Yankees matched a performance from March 29, when Goldschmidt, Bellinger, Judge, and Wells homered in the first inning against Cuban pitcher Néstor Cortés of the Brewers at Yankee Stadium.
Manager Aaron Boone couldn’t hide his amazement: “I’ve definitely never seen anything like it. It’s hard to wrap your head around.”
