SANTO DOMINGO. – El Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) manifestó este martes su apertura al diálogo y su disposición a construir acuerdos en torno a la política migratoria nacional, al considerar que se trata de un tema de interés fundamental para la soberanía, la justicia y la dignidad humana en la República Dominicana.
Durante una rueda de prensa en la Casa Nacional Reinaldo Pared Pérez, el secretario general Johnny Pujols expresó la posición oficial del Comité Político, acompañado por dirigentes como Temístocles Montás, Zoraima Cuello, Roberto Rodríguez Marchena, Gustavo Sánchez, Elías Cornelio y Sigfrido Pared Pérez. En sus palabras, Pujols destacó que el PLD promueve una política migratoria "firme, humana y estructural", en defensa de la soberanía con legalidad y respeto a los derechos.
El PLD mostró su preocupación por la ineficiencia del actual manejo gubernamental del tema migratorio, señalando que las improvisaciones afectan la imagen internacional del país y atentan contra sectores vulnerables. Reiteraron que la defensa de la soberanía no debe implicar humillación ni atropellos, sino acciones ordenadas, con controles, planificación y humanidad.
Entre sus propuestas, el partido sugirió modernizar el sistema fronterizo con tecnología de punta, implementar un plan nacional de regularización transparente, fortalecer relaciones diplomáticas para compartir responsabilidades con la comunidad internacional, y exigir que toda acción migratoria se realice conforme a la Constitución y con rendición de cuentas. Concluyeron afirmando su compromiso con una política de Estado y no con fines político-electorales.

SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) expressed on Tuesday its willingness to engage in dialogue and reach agreements on migration policy, emphasizing that it is a matter of fundamental importance for sovereignty, justice, and human dignity in the Dominican Republic.
In a press conference held at the Reinaldo Pared Pérez National House, Secretary General Johnny Pujols stated the official position of the Political Committee, accompanied by leaders such as Temístocles Montás, Zoraima Cuello, Roberto Rodríguez Marchena, Gustavo Sánchez, Elías Cornelio, and Sigfrido Pared Pérez. Pujols stressed that the PLD supports a “firm, humane, and structural” migration policy to defend sovereignty with legality and full respect for rights.
The PLD voiced concern over the government’s current ineffective migration approach, warning that improvisations damage the country’s international image and harm vulnerable groups. They insisted that sovereignty is not defended by humiliation or abuse, but through order, legal control, planning, and human dignity.
Among their proposals, the party called for modernizing border control systems with advanced technology, implementing a transparent national regularization plan, strengthening diplomatic relations to share responsibility with the international community, and ensuring that all migration actions comply with the Constitution and accountability standards. They reaffirmed their commitment to a true State policy, not an electoral tactic.
