Ciudad de Guatemala. – En un emocionante partido que se definió en cinco sets, la selección masculina de voleibol de República Dominicana se alzó con el campeonato de la Copa Panamericana U23 al vencer a Estados Unidos 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 16-14) en el Domo Polideportivo de la capital guatemalteca. La actuación sobresaliente de Harrison lo llevó a ser elegido el Jugador Más Valioso del torneo.
El encuentro fue un verdadero duelo de poder, con ambos equipos mostrando su fortaleza ofensiva. La defensa dominicana, liderada por el líbero Eliander Jiménez, mantuvo el balón en juego en momentos clave, asegurando el primer set. Guatemala City – In a thrilling five-set battle, the Dominican Republic men’s volleyball team claimed the U23 Men’s Pan American Cup title by defeating the United States 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 16-14) at the Domo Polideportivo in the Guatemalan capital. Harrison’s outstanding performance earned him the Most Valuable Player award.
The match was a true power showdown, with both teams displaying strong offensive plays. Dominican libero Eliander Jiménez kept the ball alive during key moments, helping secure the first set. The U.S. team bounced back to win the second and third sets, but the Dominicans responded with a dominant fourth set to force a dramatic tie-break.
The Dominican victory hinged on taking advantage of 44 unforced errors from their opponents. While the U.S. led in attacks (58-50) and blocks (16-10), the Caribbean squad excelled in serves (6-5).
